Governors

The Governing Body

The Governing Body comprises 12 members and is made up of 5 types of Governor:
One Local Authority appointed representative: Mrs. R. Swiers (2017-2020)
Two Parent Governors (who are elected by the parents): Mrs. S. Haigh (2016-2019) and currently 1 vacancy
The Headteacher: Mr. S. John
One Staff Governor (chosen by consent among the staff): Mrs. J. Monaghan (2013-2017)
Seven Co-Opted Governors (who are chosen by the members of the Governing Body): Mrs. C. Tindall (Chair) (2013-2017), Mrs. J. Kelly (Vice Chair) (2016-2019) , Mrs. L. Wilson (2016-2019), Mr. S. Green (2013-2017), Mrs. E. Hoggarth (2013-2017), Mrs. D. Pennock (2017-2020) and one vacancy (2015-2019)
Mr. M. Prince is the Clerk to the Governors.

Each governor serves a term of office of four years but may serve for longer if they are re-elected/re-appointed.

Dismissal Appeal Committee: Any available in the interim of appointment of new Governors

Performance Management: Mrs. Tindall, Mrs. Kelly and Mrs. Swiers

We have governors who have specific responsibilities for certain areas, i.e. Special Educational Needs (Mrs. Tindall), Child Protection/Safeguarding (Mrs. Tindall), Health and Safety (Mr. Green), Pupil Premium and Sports Funding (Mrs. Haigh).

Governors are encouraged to visit the school on a regular basis to take part in assemblies, School Council meetings and classroom activities so that they become familiar with the day to day workings of the school as well as attending their committee meetings. They also have a large amount of responsibility and are held accountable to Ofsted for their strategic role in school.

Mrs. Tindall = 3 out of 3 Full meetings, 1 out of 2 School Improvement meetings and 3 out of 3 Resources meetings
Mrs. Kelly = 3 out of 3 Full meetings and 2 out of 2 School Improvement meetings
Mrs. Wilson = 3 out of 3 Full meetings and 2 out of 2 School Improvement meetings
Mr. Green = 1 out of 3 Full meetings and 3 out of 3 Resources meetings
Mrs. Hoggarth = 3 out of 3 Full meetings and 1 out of 2 School Improvement meetings
Mrs. Pennock = 0 out of 1 Full meeting

Register of Business Interests:
The Register of Business Interests currently shows no business interests, no relationships between governors and members of staff, two governors currently are serving governors at other educational establishments.
