Friends of Cayton School...
As Chairman of the "Friends", I would like to welcome you to this website and tell you about the work of the Group.
The "Friends of Cayton School" is a support group dedicated to Cayton School. The Group was formed in 1987 and is open to all parents and guardians of children attending Cayton School and representatives of the school staff.
The "Friends"
- have a written constitution
- is a registered charity
- is affiliated to the National Association of Parent Teacher Associations.
THE AIMS OF THE GROUP
Our aims are to help to advance the education of the pupils in the school and we fulfil these aims in three ways:
- in a practical way, by assisting the teaching staff with class activities such as sewing, craftwork and also on school outings.
- by providing funds to purchase additional school equipment not provided by statutory funding
- by acting as a platform for discussions and debate on school life, so that the views and opinions of parents and staff can be shared, thus benefiting everyone associated with the school.
We have raised funds through various events, for both children and adults - magic shows, Ladies fashion evenings, infant and junior discos, which remain a firm favourite with the children and we play a major role in the annual Fairs.
Recently we have been able to provide the school rugby team with a new kit; install a new lighting system to brighten up the school's concerts; purchase musical instruments and a slide projector and extend the school ICT facilities.
MEETINGS
We hold our informal meetings / get-togethers in the ICT Suite, usually once or twice a term. See school newsletters for dates.
Normally these meetings last about half an hour and all parents and guardians are welcome.
We hope that once your child has settled into school, you will be able to join us.

These positions are reviewed at the Annual General Meeting held each September.
